As we creep forward to another sunny spring day, we must note that each of the four O&P Technology Programs has students graduating after learning fabrication and other required hand skills. If you are seeking to hire an O&P technician, please contact the program director at these four colleges:

The program director at each college is working to update and revitalize the education and training programs for students seeking to become an O&P technician. These changes are due in part to the high demand for technicians around the country and to help reduce the cost of education for students seeking this career. One of the articles in this issue focuses on the program changes occurring at Spokane Falls Community College. Please check out the article and send your comments or questions to the program director at SFCC.

Another way to increase visibility with students graduating from an O&P Technology Program is to participate in the Employer Meet & Greet (EMG) sessions offered by NCOPE during the fall, winter, and spring. The EMG sessions are Zoomed into the four colleges and provide an excellent way to increase awareness about the O&P practice that is outside the city or state where the student is studying.
